To be able to apply for a YEP position, all candidates must have finished either a university study (Bachelor or Master), or a professional higher education (HBO) before the start of the training weeks of that particular batch.
Question 3
Are you willing to work abroad for 1 or 2 years?

It is important to realise that the YEP positions are for a minimum of 1 year, and most positions are for 2 years.

Are you fluent in Dutch?

All of the Dutch Young Experts must be fluent in Dutch, to be able to follow the Dutch part of the training programme.

Does your nationality correspond with one of the available countries and is the YEP position in one of these countries?

In order to apply for a position in the YEP Programme, the applicant must have either the Dutch nationality, or the nationality of one of the countries that are eligible for funds from the Dutch Good Growth Fund. If your nationality is not listed here, unfortunately you cannot apply for a Young Expert position. The nationality of a local Young Expert should correspond with the country of the YEP position.

Did you previously serve as a Junior Project Officer (JPO) for the United Nations?

If you have previously served as a Junior Project Officer, unfortunately it is not possible to apply for a Young Expert position.

Do you have more than 8 years of professional work experience?

No
The Young Expert Programmes are meant for young professionals that have a limited amount of work experience. The work experience meant in this case is professional work experience: student jobs do not count towards the 8 years. The assessment of your work experience will be carried out by the YEP Programme Bureau.

Do you have more than 4 years of work experience in the Water, Agrofood and/or Renewable Energy sector?

A Young Expert must be relatively new to the sector he or she is applying for, therefore, a Young Expert is only allowed to have a maximum of 4 years of work experience in the field of Water, Agrofood and/or Renewable Energy. These 4 years also count towards the maximum of 8 years work experience.

Do you have a good command of English?

Since the training programmes and the communication with the Programme Bureau are in English, it is vital that the Young Expert has a good command of English, to be able to apply for a position within YEP Programmes. After applying, the Programme Bureau will assess the potential participant's command of English via a personal interview.

Do you have affinity with water, agrofood and/or renewable energy?

A Young Expert must have affinity with the Water, Agrofood and/or Renewable Energy sector. The YEP Programme Bureau will assess the potential participant's affinity during the personal interview.

Do you understand you have to agree with and sign our GDPR Data Privacy Notice to become a Young Expert, and -as a result- you will get a personal page on the YEP website?
