Project officer at Akvo, Burkina Faso

YEP Role

Project Offier for Akvo foundation, I provided training and technical support to Akvo’s NGO partners in West Africa:

• organising local FLOW trainings for enumerators
• coordinating the activities of local FLOW mappers
• visiting West African partners to support them in using Akvo FLOW

I brought my experience of integrating IT tools (Database, GIS) to the water sector. I  also acted as a local GIS expert for partners based in West Africa.

Skills

My skills are around software development, database management and Geographical Information System (GIS). I have strong knowledge in designing relational and geographical databases.

French - excellent in speaking, reading and in writing
English - good in reading, speaking and writing

Nationality: Burkinabe
Education: M.Sc Data processing applied to Geographical Information System (GeoInformatics), M.Sc Computer science (Software et databases designing)

 

Experience before YEP

Before joining Akvo foundation, I worked as a databases and GIS manager in several projects in Burkina Faso for the companies such as SEREIN-GE. I worked also in Dakar as volunteer of the International Organization of la Francophonie (OIF) where I was a facilitator in a mapping project
