I work as Project Development Engineer at Hydrobox Kenya Ltd. which is a power generation company. Its core mission is to facilitate the provision of reliable and sustainable source of energy in regions that do not have access to electricity today by offering innovative power plan solution that relies on the most affordable and sustainable source of energy: hydropower. Each of our power plants empower the local industry, SMEs and tons of thousands of local households. My responsibilities include:

  • Liaison between Contractor and Client
  • Create and implement health and safety policies in accordance to the IFC and Neema Standards

    • Prepare reports as required

  • Develop project budgets, work plans and schedules
  • Develop technical proposals and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of works
  • Attend project meetings as needed and present specific aspects of the engineering alignments
  • Perform structural designs and analysis of steel and concrete structures
  • Perform structural inspections, upgrading and rehabilitation
  • Create 3D Models of structures for Seismic & Wind loads Calculations using Finite Element Software
  • Working on water, wastewater and storm water treatment and conveyance, including planning, process evaluations, detailed design and construction administration
  • Be involved with troubleshooting and problem solving on all systems and have a working knowledge of hand-tools and maintenance practices
  • Facilities planning, project design, permitting and construction administration activities as well as developing design reports and construction documents
  • Maintaining technical quality and ensuring designs meet client specification
  • Review and evaluate engineering supplied system capacity and load data provided by the System Engineering Owners for all systems and areas.
