Luuk Hackeng

YEP period 2021 - 2023, batch 24
Young Expert at MDF Training and Consultancy B.V. - GhanaFirst position after YEP
Trainee at Vattenfall, Netherlandsd
YEP Role
MDF and its worldwide offices are specialised in capacity-building and monitoring & evaluation projects. The West-African office wants to expand its offerings more into the direction of private sector development, which entails providing follow-up financing and in-house business support for promising entrepreneurs coming out of our capacity-building programmes.
My role will be to construct our portfolio of companies and their (financing) needs, design a commercially-viable structure for an investment fund/venture studio, and realise the further extension of MDF services for entrepreneurs (bridging the gap to private equity investments in a later stage, f.i.)
Skills
With skills in Business Development, Team leadership, Project Management, and Financial Analysis I hope to help many entrepreneurs get the support they need to build out their business. The commercial aspect in this matter is crucial to me, as I think precisely that is what makes it self-sustaining and competitive. Working in Ghana will require new skills to be developed for me as well, such as flexibility and cultural awareness.
