Young Expert at Justdiggit - Tanzania

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Coordinator in a cool regreening and restoration program in Central Tanzania, under a partnership of Justdiggit, a Dutch-based organization, and LEAD Foundation, a locally-based organization. The program focuses on improving the livelihood of local farmers through Rainwater Harvesting Techniques and Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR), which promote agroforestry and sustainable land usage resulting in improved climatic and environmental conditions. As a Young Expert, I will be monitoring the program activities routinely and evaluating the impact/outcomes of program activities, sharing learning and lessons to further assist the improvement of new/ongoing projects.
I have a background in Development aspects with practice and experience in qualitative & quantitative research and community mobilization of health and environmental projects. Knowledgeable and experienced in landscape restoration, Water Harvesting Techniques, Reproductive Health, Malaria, and HIV/AIDS projects. Competence in data collection and analysis with the use of KoBo Toolbox and DHIS2 demonstrated the ability to work with and support cross-functional project teams.

Experience before YEP
- Conducted a research pilot of a regreening mobile phone application and KaiOS phone to 300 farmers in Dodoma, Tanzania to assess the possibilities of regreening through an application on an affordable smart-featured phone. The pilot was under Justdiggit and LEAD Foundation.
- Coast Zone Monitoring and Evaluation assistant Coordinator for Population Services International (PSI) covering Tanga, Dar es Salaam, Mtwara, Lindi, Morogoro, and Pwani.
- Data Clerk (M&E department) for Northern Zone with Population Services International. Did my internship and was later extended. Handled data from Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Manyara, Dodoma and Singida.
