Ivo van der Lee
Young Expert at Larive International - Kenya
YEP period 2020 - 2022, batch 21
I work as a Technical Project Manager for Lattice Aqua, the partner of Larive International in Kenya. In my work I supervise projects that aim to improve the aquaculture sector in East Africa. Examples of projects include: consulting farms, market research, supervising (feed) trials, providing trainings and setting up training programmes.
My work is aimed to develop the aquaculture industry in East Africa. The COVID crisis has learned us the importance of local food production and the risks of depending on import. Increasing production in the East African aquaculture sector can therefore improve food security while providing steady income and business opportunities in remote regions.
