YEP Role
During my YEP time I was working as a Young Water Expert for Akvo. I was situated in Kenya to assist the local hub manager in his day-to-day operations. I became the FLOW expert in East Africa and gave workshops and trainings related to this subject.

Skills
I’m a practical and enthusiastic person. During my internships I had the opportunity to specialize in different aspects of water management and construction. I got experience with AutoCAD and Revit and can supervise small projects related to civil engineering. I’m also interested in the use of GPS equipment and IT (windows, linux).

Education: BSc. in Civil Engineering at the University of Arnhem and Nijmegen (August 2009 - September 2013)
Experience before YEP
During my time at the university of Arnhem and Nijmegen I had the opportunity to get practical work experience in The Netherlands and abroad. These internships were all in a multidisciplinary work environment where different work fields came together. I worked on the following projects:
- Thesis on the realization of a work island in the Caspian Sea for Witteveen+Bos. The main focus was making sure that the design of the island didn’t conflict with the rules and regulations concerning the maximum amount of particles per liter of water
- Internship at Ballast Nedam International in Ghana, focusing on the realization of water treatment plants and the corresponding pipelines
- Internship at Royal Haskoning focusing on the design of booster- and pump stations in 2D and 3D
- Internship at Heijmans N.V. working on the preparation of different infrastructural projects
