The main goal of the Young Expert Programmes (YEP), consisting of YEP Water & YEP Agrofood, is to offer young Dutch and local professionals the opportunity to take their first steps in an international environment. They are employed through Dutch organisations in a number of eligible countries. The programmes aim to rejuvenate the Water & Agrofood sectors and ensure the continued availability of expertise for these sectors.

The YEP Programmes are carried out jointly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Netherlands Water Partnership (NWP) and the Food & Business Knowledge Platform.

YEP Role

During YEP I will be working on the partnership between SOMAGEP-SA and Waternet (two drinking water utilities respectively in Bamako and Amsterdam). The two utilities have merrily signed a Water Operators Partnership (WOP) in which three major projects : Geolocating water quality, Laboratory accreditation ISO 17025 (version 2017) and the WaterWorX. I will be involved in those interesting projects as project manager.

Experience before YEP

  • From April 2013 to June 2015 I was a consulting engineer in Paris in Oil & Gas. I worked on Process book, equipment sizing and data sheets realization for major reference companies
  • Since June 2015, I am working for SOMAGEP-SA (Malian water utilities) on drinking water quality awareness, laboratory management and procurement.
