Master Studies in Water Quality Engineering in Cape Town, South Africa
YEP Role
I am a Junior Engineer at Aquest Colsen. We specialise in the field of waste water treatment, biogas production and sustainable energy. Our core activities can be described by in-house development and application of innovative technologies for re-use of water, recovery of nutrients from waste water and organic waste and the application of sustainable energy from biogas. I am currently working on three pilot projects in the fields of UV disinfection of wastewater, thermophilic digestion and nutrient recovery in manure.

Experience before YEP
I completed my honours thesis on the water footprint of beef in South Africa. This gave me a deep insight into the importance of water management in South Africa and thus lead me to pursue a career in the water sector.
