YEP

The main goal of the Young Expert Programmes (YEP), consisting of YEP Water, YEP Agrofood, YEP Energy and YEP Tailor-made, is to offer young Dutch and local professionals the opportunity to take their first steps in an international environment. They are employed through Dutch organisations in a number of eligible countries. The programmes aim to rejuvenate the water, agrofood and renewable energy sectors and ensure the continued availability of expertise for these sectors.

The YEP Programmes are carried out jointly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Netherlands Water Partnership (NWP), the Food & Business Knowledge Platform and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency.

YEP Role

Dairy Development manager, responsible for Dairy Development Program and Milk Procurement.

We delight our customers by providing them the best tasting, cleanest and healthiest dairy products where and when they want them. Our promise is quality, consistency & great taste. We do this by controlling our own value chain from Grass to Glass. We are a fast growing company with a strong demand driven approach to change the Kenyan dairy sector into a viable and healthy producing dairy value chain.

We partner up with farmers in order to help them improve on their farm viability with the focus on milk quality. We pay our milk suppliers for their quality with a Quality Based Payment System; we pay more for high quality milk. We are unique for having a zero tolerance policy on added inhibitors and antibiotics in milk. Milk with exceeding levels of cancerous aflatoxin or any inhibitor will be rejected.

Our Dairy Development Program support farmers with quality support, access to finance, practical training, long term partnerships and an increase of milk production and farm profitability.
