The main goal of the Young Expert Programmes (YEP), consisting of YEP Water, YEP Agrofood, YEP Energy and YEP Tailor-made, is to offer young Dutch and local professionals the opportunity to take their first steps in an international environment. They are employed through Dutch organisations in a number of eligible countries. The programmes aim to rejuvenate the water, agrofood and renewable energy sectors and ensure the continued availability of expertise for these sectors.

The YEP Programmes are carried out jointly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Netherlands Water Partnership (NWP), the Food & Business Knowledge Platform and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency.

I am a serious and hardworking person with a great sense of responsibility. I have strong analytical skills and am capable to look at the bigger picture. I am very passionate about sustainability and social entrepreneurship and I enjoy working in an international setting, with people from different backgrounds. I have an understanding of marketing and social media, project- and event management roles. 



Nationality: Dutch
Education: I studied at the University of Groningen and have obtained a BSc & MSc degree in International Business & Management, having studied for one semester at the Université Paris Dauphine in Paris, France. For my MA degree in International Relations and International Organisations I specialized in International Political Economy.


Experience before YEP

  • Working on sustainable energy projects at a local municipality in the North of the Netherlands
  • Preparing my thesis on social enterprises for publication; ‘Managing Mission Drifts: Growth and Struggles of Alternative Food’
  • Intern at the Agricultural department of the Dutch Embassy in London
  • Internship at WakaWaka, a Dutch social enterprise developing portable solar lights for developing markets where people have no access to electricity
