YEP Role

I am working as Strategic Product Developer for Holland Greentech in Rwanda. My main task is to develop a complete concept of products and services to make it possible for the smallholder farmers to switch to protected horticulture. One of the biggest part in this is the design of a low-tech greenhouse which can be manufactured in Rwanda. Another big part is the development of the portfolio of products and services to support the first steps to protected horticulture.

Experience before YEP

2015: Graduation thesis “PAYG in South Africa And Zimbabwe. Finding the appropriate PSS to make solar home systems affordable”. Performed in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Kenya and Tanzania for SolarWorks.
August 2014 – January 2015: Legbank Project. Development of a Product-Service System for a high quality prosthesis in the context of low-income areas in Colombia together with 5 other designers and the social enterprise ProPortion.
August 2012 – December 2014: Design and Development Trainee. Part-time involved in the design and development of products to measure and monitor vital health signals at the Dutch company Agis Automatisering
