YEP Alumni Board

The YEP Alumni Board facilitates the valuable exchanges between alumni of the YEP programme.

During their YEP positions, participants developed in-depth expertise, gained exceptional field experience and are connected to valuable local and global networks. Unquestionably, keeping the YEP-network ‘alive’ contributes to the professional and personal development of our alumni, and aids indirectly the development and exchange of expertise within the sectors of  the YEP programme.

The YEP Alumni Board, supported by the YEP Programme Bureau, organises activities for alumni to maintain and expand their network, to learn through content-oriented events and to meet different batches of Young Experts. Furthermore, the YEP Alumni Board is often involved in the representation of YEP Programmes on partner events, in Basecamp activities, and in the development of new training opportunities.

Are you an alumnus/alumna looking to share business opportunities, professional tips or simply to connect with your peers? Get in touch, join us at one of our events and keep an eye on our LinkedIn page, YEP Programmes' Instagram and Basecamp!

The Alumni Board is currently made up of the following members:

1 September 2023 - YEP alumni meet-up!

On 1 September the YEP Alumni bBoard organised an alumni networking drinks & dinner in the Netherlands for YEP alumni.

17 March 2023 - Hybrid YEP alumni event on climate action

This was a well-attended event, both physically in the Netherlands, where many alumni came together at the office of the Netherlands Water Partnership in the Hague, but also online, by those dialling in from abroad.

During this event, Pippi van Ommen (National Coordinator for Extinction Rebellion the Netherlands) and Anjal Niraula (CEO of Gham Power) were the two thought-provoking keynote speakers, who challenged and inspired the attendants by sharing their ideas on what one can do yourself to combat climate change, whether that is in the form of civil disobedience and climate protests or starting up your own company as a force for good.  The discussions that followed from the speeches were carried out during the follow-up live and online break-out rooms.

Following the event, the attendants on location were supplied with drinks and snacks, upon which some much needed catching up and networking took place. Online, there was also a follow-up programme, which allowed the online participants to get to know each other better in a more informal way.
